How long does a microblading appointment take?

Your first microblading session takes about 2-3 hours total. This includes consultation and brow mapping (45-60 minutes), numbing (20-30 minutes), and the actual microblading process (60-90 minutes). I never rush—every stroke matters, and I want you to love the shape before I begin.

What's the difference between microblading and powder brows?

Microblading creates individual hair-like strokes that mimic real brow hairs—ideal for a natural "I woke up like this" look. Powder brows use tiny dots to create a soft, filled-in effect similar to wearing brow makeup. Many clients with oily skin or who want more definition choose combination brows, which blend both techniques.

Does microblading hurt? Will I need numbing?

I always use numbing—both before we start and a secondary numbing gel during the procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as a scratchy feeling, similar to eyebrow plucking in reverse. About 81% of my clients rate the discomfort at 5 or below on a 10-point scale. The arch and front tend to be more sensitive than the tails.

How do I prepare for my microblading appointment?

Skip caffeine the morning of your appointment (it increases sensitivity and affects numbing). Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and blood thinners if possible. Stop retinol and chemical exfoliants for at least a week before. Eat a real meal before you arrive—low blood sugar makes everything worse. Come with clean brows and no makeup.
